Ethylene Glycol
Primary component in most plastics and is used in products such as antifreeze.

- The ethane is sent to crackers. Steam cracking is used. Ethane and a small amount of propane is heated using steam heated to about 800 degrees celsius. One bond on the ethane (C2H6) loses two hydrogens, breaking it and producing ethylene (C2H4) and H2. Steam is then used to cool down the mixtures and they are separated so the ethylene can move on the the other products can be recycled.
